## Policy

See Turo’s [Vehicle tracking and technology policy](https://help.turo.com/tracking-and-technology-devices-SkF48Nl49) for more information about permitted devices and requirements for their use.

**Vehicles valued between £25,000 and £49,999**

Turo requires vehicles valued between £25,000 and £49,999 to be equipped with at minimum, an activated sleeper tracker. Sleeper trackers must be dedicated, subscription-based assets designed for the recovery of stolen vehicles. They must have independent, built-in cellular (GSM) and satellite (GPS/GNSS) connectivity. Consumer-grade Bluetooth trackers or “mesh network” tags (e.g., Apple AirTags, Samsung SmartTags, or Tile) and/or devices that alert anyone to their presence are strictly prohibited. They must be in full working order and linked to an active subscription that provides real-time location data upon theft activation.

You may be asked to provide proof that a required tracker was installed and activated. Sleeper trackers are available for purchase at a preferential price from our approved partner, [Trak Global Security Solutions, (“TGSS”)](https://shop.trakglobalss.com/).

If you choose a hardwired device, it must be an aftermarket installation. The tracker can’t be an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), factory-fitted, on-board diagnostic (OBD), or plug-in device.

**Vehicles valued at £50,000 or more**

Turo requires vehicles valued at over £50,000 to be equipped with an activated aftermarket Thatcham-approved S5 or S7 tracker. The tracker can’t be an OEM, factory-fitted, OBD, or plug-in device.

Once your tracker is installed, you must contact customer support with written confirmation of the tracker and proof of a professional, third-party installation. S5 and S7 trackers are available for purchase at a preferential price from our approved partner, [TGSS, under the name T7 100](https://shop.trakglobalss.com/).

You must renew your subscription when due.

You may purchase a tracker elsewhere, but it must be an aftermarket Thatcham-approved S5 or S7 tracker. The tracker can’t be an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), factory-fitted, on-board diagnostic (OBD), or plug-in device.

You must contact customer support with written confirmation of the tracker AND proof of a professional, third-party installation.

**Reporting and cooperation in case of theft or late return**

In the event of a late return or theft, you must cooperate with Turo to facilitate the recovery of your vehicle, including providing the vehicle's location data to Turo and its trusted security partners as soon as possible after becoming aware of the theft or, in case of late return, no later than 24 hours after the scheduled end date of the trip.

## **Violations**

Your Turo  earnings plan for a vehicle valued at or over £25,000 will not apply in the event of theft, missing vehicle, and late return claims if:
\- you have not purchased, installed, and activated a tracker as set out above;

\- you don’t promptly (and in any case within 24 hours of becoming aware of the event) cooperate with the investigation, including by providing vehicle location information and/or by providing written consent for Turo’s trusted security partner to access such location information.

**Failure to comply with the conditions above means you won’t receive payments in case of theft or late return**.
