#### You must meet the specific requirements listed here to book a car in France. If you’re booking a car in another Turo location, check to the booking requirements for the [US](https://help.turo.com/H1gxVVeE9), [Australia](https://help.turo.com/HkhqNcD0a), [Canada](https://help.turo.com/ByHbS9wRT), or the [UK](https://help.turo.com/HJHcScP0p).

## Booking requirements

You **don’t need to create an account**, and you **don’t need your own insurance** to book a car on Turo.

We’ll use **your driving history and age at the time you book** to determine if you’re eligible to book a vehicle, what type of vehicle, and if you must pay a young driver fee. We’re unable to make any exceptions.

**Drivers must be of legal driving age in France (17 years or older)** **AND have held a valid driver’s license for at least two years.**

**Additionally, drivers** **must:**

* **have held a valid driving license for seven years** or more to book a [Deluxe Class](https://help.turo.com/deluxe-class-and-super-deluxe-class-eligibility-Syv7H4lV5) vehicle

*   **

    **have held a valid driving license for twelve years** or more to book a [Super Deluxe Class](https://help.turo.com/deluxe-class-and-super-deluxe-class-eligibility-Syv7H4lV5) vehicle or specialty vehicle

    **

**You must pay a young driver fee** if you are ages 17-25. Young driver fees can’t be waived, excused, or refunded to guests once they’ve completed their trip.

*   **17–23:** €10/day, minimum of €45 per trip

*   **24–25:** €10/day, minimum of €35 per trip

**You must have a permanent, valid license that is:**

* written entirely in French; _**OR**_

* _officially translated_ entirely to French; _**OR**_

* issued by one of the European Economic Area countries; _**OR**_

* issued in the United Kingdom; _**OR**_

* a valid license issued by your home country that shows you’ve been a fully licensed driver for two or more years; _**and**_ an [International Driving Permit (IDP)](https://help.turo.com/temporary-licenses-and-international-driver's-permits-HkOgVExE9)

**Turo doesn’t accept electronic licenses**; you’ll be required to upload photos of your physical license. A valid license is one that’s not altered, expired, suspended, or revoked. It can’t be conditional, provisional, or restricted. Turo doesn’t accept electronic learner’s permit/instruction permit or a temporary license for trips in France.

## Booking information required at checkout

**To book your first trip**, you’ll enter the following information at checkout:

*   **

    **First and last name**

    **
* **Email address**: Enter an email address that’s not tied to any other Turo account

* **Phone number**: Make sure your phone can accept text messages

* **Payment method**: Enter information for one of the [payment methods Turo accepts](https://help.turo.com/en_us/payment-methods-turo-accepts-B1kfEutwee). You must have a payment card or an Apple Wallet or Google Wallet account on file to pay for any post-trip incidental costs or vehicle damage for which you’re found to be responsible.

**If you’re booking with less than three hours lead time before your trip starts,** we’ll ask you to verify your phone number and to enter your driver’s license information at checkout**.**  If you didn’t add or decline protection, we’ll prompt you to do so before your trip begins.

**If your license is expired or will expire while your trip is in progress,** you’ll need to provide an updated driver’s license before your trip starts.

Once you’ve booked your trip, we’ll send an email confirming the booking. You can cancel at no cost within our [free cancellation period](https://turo.com/us/en/policies/cancellation). You can only book one vehicle at a time. The dates and times of another trip may not overlap with the dates and times of any other trip you’ve already booked.  **In France, the length of a trip is limited to 12 months in total.**

## Completing post-booking steps

**If you booked your first trip with more than three hours lead time,** you’ll need to complete a few quick, post-booking tasks: confirm your phone number, upload or verify your driver’s license, and add or decline protection, if you haven’t already done so.

We’ll display a checklist of these tasks for you and send regular reminders for you to complete these tasks no later than two hours before your trip is scheduled to start; otherwise, the trip will be canceled.

## Verifying your information

We may ask for [additional photos](https://help.turo.com/verification-photos-SycgNVlV9) and information to verify your account. If you enter the same information (e.g, email address, driver’s license number, etc), as another Turo user, you won’t be able to book. Turo has the right to decline your trip request and remove you from the platform for any reasonable reason, including suspicion of fraud.
