## How to manage guest parking fees

Host have the following options for managing parking fees with guests:

*   **

    **Guest pays for parking:** Tell the guest anything about the parking fee that you can share with accuracy. For example, tell them things such as if the fee is a set amount or if the parking location doesn’t accept cash.

    **
*   **

    **Guest pays for parking and you reimburse them:** Tell the guest in Turo messaging that you’ll reimburse them for the parking fee. Instruct them to upload a photo of the receipt in messaging and to contact customer support once their trip ends to request host reimbursement.

    **
*   **

    **You cover the parking fee up front:** Leave the parking fee amount in cash in your vehicle and tell the guest where to find it. At check-in, take and upload a photo of the cash in the car to avoid any issues in which the guest says the cash wasn’t there. A parking fee cash transaction is _**not**_ a violation of Turo’s gray market policy.

**Important:** You may not ask a guest to pay for parking using a link to a third party service. Such requests violate Turo’s [gray market transaction policy](https://help.turo.com/gray-market-transaction-policy-or-hosts-SJOUUNlN5) and may result in Turo charging you a $150\* violation fee, removing you from the platform, and seeking liquidated damages in the amount of $5,500\* as per our Terms of service.

## Communicating parking fees to guests

If guests must pay a parking fee when they pick up your vehicle at a home or delivery location, you must disclose that through a scheduled message in Turo messaging immediately after the guest books a trip. You may make a guest responsible for paying a parking fee **only if** you disclose it in a scheduled message in Turo messaging immediately after the guest books a trip.

If you don’t properly disclose and a guest must pay a parking fee, they can contact Turo and request reimbursement, which Turo will deduct from your host earnings.

**Note:** If your guest is picking up at a permitted airport where Turo’s new parking fee guidelines are in place, we’ll let them know about the guidelines and fees when we notify them the vehicle is ready for pickup.

## Ineligible parking fees

You may not charge or request reimbursement from a guest or from Turo for any parking fee you pay to pick up your vehicle after a trip ends. **US hosts** who use Park My Share at an airport are fully responsible for parking costs and may not charge or request reimbursement. If you submit a reimbursement invoice for parking costs that are your responsibility, Turo will [deny the invoice and charge you a violation fee for the ineligible request](https://help.turo.com/ineligible-reimbursement-invoices-and-damage-reports-SJ4FBNlV5).

You may not ask a guest to pay for parking using a link to a third party service. Such requests violate Turo’s [gray market transaction policy](https://help.turo.com/gray-market-transaction-policy-or-hosts-SJOUUNlN5) and may result in Turo charging you a $150\* [violation fee](https://help.turo.com/host-fees-r1aIIExV5), removing you from the platform, and seeking liquidated damages in the amount of $5,500\* as per our [Terms of service](https://turo.com/policies/terms).
