## What is a supplement

A supplement is a request for additional funds to repair the vehicle.

## When to submit a supplement

Sometimes the initial damage cost estimate you received is lower than your repair shop’s quote. It could be because the shop found additional damage that wasn’t visible in the original damage photos. Or the price of parts may have gone up or the amount of labor time increased. If this happens, ask your repair shop to file a supplement.

Your shop **must** submit a supplement to Turo within 45 days of the date we issued the initial payment. If a shop submits a supplement after the 45th day, it’s not eligible for payment. We may make an exception if the shop couldn’t begin vehicle repair because parts weren’t available, was actively working on your vehicle, or other relevant circumstances.

If you work directly with your guest to resolve damage and accept payment from the guest or their insurance carrier, you’re no longer eligible to submit a claim to your protection plan, including a supplement.

## How to submit a supplement

Your claims associate would have emailed you with instructions on how your shop can file a supplement online or by phone. You can also find this information at the top of the estimate. Share these with your repair shop. We don’t accept supplements from hosts, only from the shop making the repairs.

## Supplement review and payment

After they submit the supplement, your shop and Turo’s third-party appraisal team will work together to agree on a repair price and revise the estimate, if needed. **If your shop submits a supplement, our appraisal team requires that your vehicle be present at the shop so they can complete the supplement review, and it must remain there until all approved repairs are completed.** Some shops may wait for a supplement to be approved before scheduling repairs. We’ll email you a copy of the updated estimate and instructions for receiving supplemental payment so you can pay the repair shop directly.
