This article explains how to manage flat tire damage during a trip and defines host financial responsibility. This article applies to all hosts, but procedures differ based on the trip location. This article does not cover general roadside assistance for non-tire related issues or detailed insurance claims processing.

## Flat tire – US, Australia, Canada, and France

_(This section covers tire repair or replacement procedures for these specific regions and managing the associated costs.)_

### Tire repair or replacement process

As a host in the US, Australia, Canada, or France, advise a guest who gets a flat tire to immediately contact Turo's roadside assistance provider. Then work with them to coordinate a repair or replacement.

* **If the damaged tire is repairable:** Consider advising the guest to have the repair made.

* **If there’s sidewall damage or the tire is not repairable:** Give the guest  approval to replace the tire with one of equal or greater quality.

**Note**: Guests are not responsible for replacing non-damaged tires.

### Tire costs

It’s in a host’s best interested to try to resolve a flat tire claim directly with their guest to control the process and avoid administrative fees. If you and your guest cannot agree on handling costs, either of you can report the flat tire damage in the Turo damage reporting center and must do so no later than 24 hours after the trip ends. Turo's Claims team will review pre- and post-trip photos to determine responsibility. The individual protection plan chosen by each party will apply. This is true for all claims filed in the US, Australia, Canada, and France.

### Flat tyre – UK

_(This section details tyre issue procedures and coverage options for UK trips.)_

### Using breakdown cover to manage a tyre issue

Hosts in the UK can use their personal breakdown cover for managing tyre issues. Some hosts prefer this option to avoid roadside fees for service by Turo's roadside service provider.

### Using Turo's roadside service provider to manage a tyre issue

If a host does not have or prefers not to use personal breakdown cover, they can rely on Turo's 24/7 roadside provider in the UK, Allianz. Allianz does not offer assistance in Europe; consider purchasing additional coverage for European trips. Turo will charge hosts an amount that aligns with our [UK roadside assistance](https://help.turo.com/roadside-assistance-or-uk-hosts-rJNEI4l49).
