## Why choose to resolve directly

After filing a damage claim, you still have the option to work directly with the guest’s personal insurer or the third party’s carrier. When discussing this option with your guest, it’s helpful to remind them that working through their own insurance can **save them the cost of Turo’s claims processing fee.** To help the process along, you can refer their insurance adjuster to the [car sharing agreement](https://help.turo.com/view-car-sharing-agreement-hosts-HkEbhubTs):

*   **US:** Clause 2.6

* **Australia, Canada, France, & UK:** Clause 2.5

Even if you’ve already accepted a partial payment from a guest or an insurance carrier, you can still submit a request via your [Claims Dashboard](https://help.turo.com/viewing-and-managing-claims-dashboard-S1FAwXad5) and ask Turo to step in. We’ll verify the claim’s eligibility and reimburse you for the remaining balance, factoring in any payments you’ve already received and the damage responsibility amount of your host earnings plan.
