The guest impound fee applies when Turo or its service providers recover an impounded vehicle, and a guest is found responsible. This article covers the fee amount and the situations that can result in guest responsibility in the US and Canada.

## Guest impound fee

*   **Guests in the US:** Turo will charge guests found responsible for an impound a fee of $399\* if Turo recovers the vehicle.
    
*   **Guests in Canada**: Turo will charge guests found responsible for an impound a fee of at least $399\* if Turo recovers the vehicle. 
    

The guest impound fee will apply even if the guest purchased Enhanced roadside assistance for their trip. Guests may be held responsible for an impound in situations including, but not limited to:

*   **Parking violations:** Parking illegally, including parking in a tow-away zone or blocking restricted areas during the trip.
    
*   **Minor policy violations:** Committing a non-parking violation that directly results in law enforcement or other authorities impounding the vehicle.
    
*   **Terms of Service (TOS) violations:** Committing a breach of Turo's policy during the active rental period.
    
*   **Abandonment or improper return:** Abandoning the vehicle or leaving it in an unapproved, hazardous, or wrong location, directly leading to an impound.
