## Required personal insurance

You must have a personal auto insurance policy to be a host on Turo and must follow all applicable registration and insurance laws and regulations. Turo requires **hosts in Australia** to have CTP insurance, also known as CTP green slip.

Before listing your car on Turo, contact your insurer to ensure they allow car sharing and that your participation on Turo won’t affect your personal policy.

#### Accidents and your personal insurance

**US hosts**

During a Turo trip, your personal insurance may not apply.

In some states, certain coverages like Uninsured Motorist (UM)/Underinsured Motorist (UIM), Personal Injury Protection (PIP), and liability may still follow your vehicle, even during a guest’s Turo trip. Turo’s third-party insurer provides the state-required minimum UM/UIM coverage, which may be zero in some states. If you’re insured in one of these states, your personal insurance could be affected if a guest has an accident in your vehicle.

**Canada hosts**

During a Turo trip, your personal insurance won’t be in effect. Be sure to review the detailed policy information for Turo's earnings plans in your province.

## Required earnings plan

Hosts must choose a earnings plan offered through Turo. Earnings plans in all countries except Australia include liability insurance from a third-party policy.

* **Plans in the US** include a contract with Turo for physical damage reimbursement, which isn’t insurance
* **Plans in Australia** include protection against legal liability for damage to someone else’s property and protection for damage to your vehicle
* **Plans in Canada** include insurance for physical damage. The initial portion is handled under a contract with Turo for reimbursement, and the remainder under a third-party insurance policy
* **Plans in France** include insurance for physical damage reimbursement
* **Plans in the UK** include a contract with Turo for physical damage reimbursement, which isn’t insurance
