#### If your account is restricted because you disputed a charge with your payment provider, follow this process to see if your account restrictions can be lifted.

## What’s a chargeback?

Turo’s [Chargeback policy](https://help.turo.com/chargeback-policy-guest-S1reGLMee) and Terms of service prohibit guests from disputing a charge by asking their payment provider to reverse a transaction, a practice known as filing a chargeback.

## Taking steps to lift chargeback account restrictions

If Turo restricted your account because you filed a chargeback, you may be able to have the restriction removed. The first step in removing the restriction is to cancel the chargeback with your payment provider. You can’t resolve a chargeback account restriction by offering to use another form of payment.

When you cancel the chargeback, request a dispute cancellation document from your payment provider in PDF or image file format. This document should include your name, all disputed amounts, the last four digits of the payment card, and a statement verifying that the dispute has been dropped.

Once you receive the dispute cancellation document, complete [this form](https://help.turo.com/contact/dispute-hold-B1jXhgabll) and attach the document.

An agent will respond within a few business days to let you know Turo’s decision as to whether they can lift the restriction.  Your account will remain restricted while Turo reviews your reinstatement request. During this review period, you’ll be unable to extend any in-progress trips or book future trips.
