#### Before starting the listing process, check that your vehicle meets Turo’s eligibility requirements for listing in Canada. These criteria apply as long as your vehicle is listed on Turo.

## Vehicle basics

*   Be an eligible passenger vehicle located in the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, or the Yukon
*   Be registered to you or to an owner who’s authorized you to list their vehicle and meets all provincial legal requirements; for  example, vehicles must be registered and licensed in the province where the trip begins
*   Have permanent plates; we don’t allow temporary, dealer, or trader plates 

## Vehicle type

#### Vehicles not eligible for listing

Ineligible vehicles include but aren’t limited to, limousines, motorcycles, RVs, tow trucks, three-wheeled vehicles like Polaris Slingshot or Vanderhall Venice, vehicles that seat more than nine (including the driver), vehicles that require a commercial license, off-road vehicles

#### Vehicles conditionally eligible for listing

Box trucks are eligible for listing **_in British Columbia only_** as long as they aren’t equipped with air brakes and meet [specific length and weight criteria](https://help.turo.com/article/box-trucks-hosts-Sk111wtlkl).

Tesla Cybertrucks are eligible for listing **_in British Columbia only_**.

## Vehicle age and condition

*   Be no more than 12 years old, with exceptions for “specialty” or “classic” vehicles
*   Have fewer than 200,000 kilometres
    *   You must [maintain your vehicle](https://help.turo.com/maintenance-requirements-ryNmIVxNc) and continue to meet our maintenance and safety standards as your vehicle ages
    *   Once listed, vehicles that reach or exceed 200,000 km may remain listed if they’re in excellent condition and continue to meet all legal, safety, and mechanical standards
*   Have a fair market value of up to $150,000 
    *   Turo provides coverage for the actual cash value (ACV) of the vehicle, up to $150,000
    *   Turo uses a third-party vendor to determine vehicle value at the time of listing

*   Have a clean (e.g., [not a “branded” or “salvage](https://help.turo.com/ineligible-vehicle-titles-B1DvLEe49)”) title
    *   You’re responsible for knowing your vehicle’s title history
    *   If you don’t, get a vehicle history report from Carfax before listing on Turo
*   Has never been declared a total loss

## Insurance

*   Have proof of active OEM tracker if the vehicle has a vehicle value of over $105,000 at the time of listing; you may be responsible for up to 20% of covered damages above your protection plan deductible for select vehicles without an activated tracker

## Specialty or classic vehicle requirements

#### Age, condition, and value

You may be able to list a “specialty” or “classic” car if it meets the conditions below. Call us at 1-888-391-0460 to confirm eligibility. Turo can, at its discretion, decline to list any vehicle for any reason. 

*   Be 25 years or older
*   Have a fair market value of up to $105,000; Turo provides coverage for a specialty or classic vehicle’s fair market value up to $105,000
*   Be in excellent mechanical and physical condition
*   Have all seat belts in safe, working condition
*   Be subject to additional review

#### Considerations

For a vehicle to be considered a specialty vehicle, it should stand out as being “luxurious”, “unique”, or “rare”. We may make exceptions that don't fall under these qualifications for certain provinces based on supply and demand. 

*   **Luxurious** vehicles have high-quality materials, advanced technology, performance, exclusive features, and brand prestige
*   **Unique** vehicles are those that may have undergone significant customization, are one-off builds, or possess significant cultural or iconic status
*   **Rare** vehicles have limited production, historical significance, as well as popularity and demand

## Consistent guest experience

*   Have no branding on the inside or outside of the vehicle other than the automaker’s branding.
