## **Trip duration discounts**

Turo opts all new vehicle listings into all available trip duration discounts: three days, one week, two weeks, three weeks, and monthly. You can change the discount amounts at any time on your vehicle’s **Pricing** **& discounts** page.  Your weekly discount must be set at or above your three-day discount, and your monthly discount must be set at or above three weeks discount.

**Your duration discounts for one-week trips** must be set to 15% or higher to unlock the ability to reduce your weekly distance limits.

**Your duration discounts for monthly trips** must be set to 45% or higher to unlock the ability to reduce your monthly distance limits.

**Your duration discounts** must be set at or above these standardized minimums:

**Trip length**

**Minimum duration discount**

Three days

3%

One week

5%

Two weeks

10%

Three weeks

15%

Monthly

20%

To opt out of a duration discount, set your maximum trip length to less than the trip length for that duration discount. For example, if you want to opt out of monthly duration discounts, set your maximum trip length to 29 days, since monthly trips are for 30 days or longer. [Access your vehicle’s Trip preferences page](https://help.turo.com/setting-trip-duration-BJZpGUJIc) to set your maximum trip length.

## Non-refundable discount

A 10% non-refundable discount option is available on all vehicles for non-refundable trips booked 4+ days in advance. This industry-standard feature attracts longer lead time, lower-risk trips and provides you with guaranteed earnings – even if a guest cancels. Hosts can’t change the percentage or opt out of offering this discount. If a non-refundable trip is canceled, you keep the earnings, and your vehicle becomes available to book again. Making this a standard creates a more consistent experience that builds guest trust and helps ensure predictable earnings for hosts.

**If the trip is more than 30 days, guests must use “Pay as you go.”** We’ll charge “Pay as you go” guests for the first 30 days of their trip at booking. We’ll charge them for the second 30 days when the trip starts and charge future 30-day increments 30 days in advance.

**If a “Pay as you go” guest cancels after the 24-hour grace period,** hosts will keep the first 30 days’ earnings for the trip.

**If a “Pay as you go” guest shortens the trip,** hosts will keep the earnings for all of the 30-day periods the guest has already paid. For example:

* **Guest books a trip from Nov. 15 to March 15. Before the trip starts, they shorten it to end Nov 20:** You keep the earnings for the first 30 days of the trip. (Nov 15 to Dec 14)

* **Guest books a trip from Nov. 15 to March 15. After the trip has started, they shorten it to end Nov 20:** You keep the earnings from the first 60 days of the trip (Nov 15 to Jan 13)

* **Guest books a trip from Nov. 15 to March 15.  On Dec 15, they shorten the trip to end Jan 20:**  You keep the earnings from the first 90 days of the trip (Nov 15 to Feb 12)

## Setting discounts

To set, change, or remove a discount, open your vehicle listing and choose **Pricing & discounts**. For duration discounts, tap/click **“Edit”** on  **Daily trips**, **Weekly trips**, or **Monthly trips** and adjust the slider to your preferred discount.

Remember that Turo’s discount logic requires shorter-duration trips to have smaller discounts than longer-duration trips. For example, a three-day discount must be lower than a one-week discount, a one-week discount must be lower than a one-month discount, and so on.

## Applying discounts

When a guest books or extends a trip, we’ll automatically apply any relevant discounts to the trip price. The trip price is the sum of the daily price for each day your vehicle is booked. Discounts apply to each day of a trip, including any days you’ve set with a [custom price](https://help.turo.com/setting-your-vehicle-price-S12VrVlVc).

If a trip qualifies for multiple discounts, we’ll apply them one after the other. For example, if a trip qualifies for a 15% duration discount and a 10% non-refundable discount, we’ll apply the duration discount first to get an updated trip price. Then we’ll apply the non-refundable discount to that updated price.

If a guest extends a non-refundable trip, the additional days are also non-refundable and will receive the non-refundable discount.

If you or Turo approve a guest’s request to extend a trip that’s been paid in full and qualified for a duration discount, we won’t apply the original trip’s discount to the added days. The added days may qualify for their own duration discount.

If you or Turo approve a guest’s request to shorten a trip for which they received a duration discount and the trip falls below the discount threshold, they may owe an additional amount. We’ll compute the new discount, if any, using the current discount in place at the time of their change request. If there’s a balance due, we’ll charge the guest and add the amount to your earnings. If your guest shortens a non-refundable trip, they won’t be eligible for a refund.

## Sending post-trip discounts

You can encourage guests to rebook with you by sending them a 5%, 10%, or 15% discount code after they complete a trip in one of your vehicles. Discount codes are one-time use, non-transferable, and valid for a trip in any of your listed vehicles up to 90 days after the guest receives it.

The discount percentage applies to the next booked trip’s price, up to a maximum of $100\* off. Guests can combine an individual discount code with discounted non-refundable bookings and trip duration discounts. We’ll give you the option to send a discount code when we prompt you to rate your guest’s trip.
