This article explains how UK guests who experience a roadside breakdown during a trip may be eligible for a partial refund for unused days as well as a goodwill reimbursement for onward travel expenses to reach a safe location.

## Onward travel benefit

_(Details eligibility for refunds and travel reimbursement after roadside vehicle breakdowns.)_

Breakdowns sometimes happen, even with well-maintained vehicles. Turo isn’t responsible for travel delays resulting from a roadside incident; however, we understand how disruptive this can be. So if you're unable to continue your trip due to a roadside breakdown, depending on the nature of the incident, you can expect the following:

* Turo will refund you for unused days, unless you breach Turo’s Terms of service
* Turo may provide a goodwill reimbursement of up to **£50\* per person** for onward travel expenses to a safe **location**

You **won’t be eligible** for onward travel benefits in these scenarios:

* Accident where you were at fault
* Battery drained due to leaving lights on
* Carelessness, abuse, or a violation of Turo’s policies
* Flat tires (unless caused by a pre-existing condition)
*   Lost keys
*   Vandalism

## Receiving onward travel benefit

Turo’s specialised roadside team will contact you about onward travel if you’ve reported a roadside incident. Team members will assess your individual situation and aim to respond within five business days.

**Eligible reimbursements**

Onward travel must meet the following criteria to be considered for eligibility. In addition, you must provide proof of receipt — no exceptions. Eligible onward travel **_must_**:

* be comparable to a vehicle booked on Turo  (e.g., a like-for-like rental, public transport, or taxi); **_AND_**
* be either for travel back home, to your original destination, or to a nearby accommodation

**Ineligible reimbursements**

Turo is typically unable to reimburse for the following:

* Gas, accommodation, or any expenses not directly related to onward travel
* Compensation for lost time or overall experience

 \*Amounts are in A$ for Australia, CA$ for Canada, € for France, and £ for the United Kingdom. They’re in US$ for the United States and its territories.
