This article outlines the various payment methods accepted by Turo to simplify the booking process. It covers eligibility of credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards, and mobile payment apps to ensure a seamless transaction. It does not address booking eligibility, trip protection, or billing inquiries.

## Credit card requirements for payment

To use a credit card as your payment method, it must:

*   Be issued by a major financial institution (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
    
*   Be issued in the name of the primary guest
    

**Credit cards for New York trips:** Guests who book a trip with a vehicle located in New York must provide a credit card in their name that matches the name on their driver's license. After providing this card, guests can choose a different payment method to pay for their trip.

## Debit card requirements for payment

Turo accepts debit cards with these features:

*   Issued by a bank (including online banks like Chime and Ally)
    
*   Registered in the primary guest's name
    
*   Linked to a checking account
    
*   Branded with Visa or Mastercard
    
*   Standard (not temporary, reloadable, or prepaid)
    

**Note:** When you use a debit card for checkout, you may be asked to add a credit card to your account. 

## Prepaid cards (including Revolut)

Turo only accepts Revolut prepaid cards, which must be issued in the primary guest's name.

Turo does **not** accept other prepaid or reloadable card products, including:

*   Bluebird, Serve, or NetSpend
    
*   Tesco Clubcard+, Mastercard Everyday
    
*   EDD (Electronic Benefit Transfer)
    
*   Any other reloadable or temporary card
    

## Mobile payment apps (Apple Pay and Google Pay)

**Accepted:**

*   **Apple Pay:** Available on iOS devices in all locations
    
*   **Google Pay:** Available on Android devices in the US and Canada
    

**Setup:** When using Apple Pay or Google Pay at checkout, you'll also need to add a backup credit or debit card to your Turo account. The payment will process through your selected mobile payment app, but the backup card ensures Turo can securely verify your transaction.

**Not accepted:** PayPal, Venmo, or other third-party payment apps.
