#### Tasmania car hire regulations require vehicles to undergo an informal inspection before the start of every trip to confirm they’re safe to operate.

## Pre-trip inspection requirement

Within 24 hours before the start of every trip, Turo hosts in Tasmania must complete and sign an inspection checklist to confirm the booked vehicle is safe to operate. If any components on the checklist are faulty, you must cancel the booking. If you have another listed vehicle available and confirmed as safe to operate, you can offer it to your guest to see if they’d be interested in rebooking with you. Follow the [instructions for a vehicle swap.](https://help.turo.com/vehicle-swaps-r13srEe4c)

Completing the pre-trip inspection before every Turo trip is a regulatory requirement of Turo’s operation in Tasmania under the “Hire & Drive Passenger Service Operator Accreditation” scheme. **Failure to complete this requirement may result in Turo voiding your protection plan.** Read more about pre-trip inspection in the [Turo Travels Mutual Product Disclosure Statement.](https://support-resources.turo.com/policies/Host%20PDS%20-%20Turo%20Travels.pdf)

2. Input the reservation number for the upcoming trip as shown in the Turo app
