## Refund timelines

#### Canceled trips

If you or your host cancels a trip, you can rebook using funds from your canceled trip. **If you don’t rebook within 24 hours, we’ll issue you a refund in accordance with our** [**cancellation policy**](https://turo.com/us/en/policies/cancellation)**.** We'll update you via notifications and email as soon as your refund is initiated, including the **exact amount** you're receiving, which will be displayed on your receipt. To view your receipt, open the **Trips** tab, open the trip you’re interested in, and tap/click “**View detailed receipt**.”

#### Security deposits

When you complete a trip that required a security deposit, we’ll refund your security deposit **80 hours after the trip ends**, provided there are no reports of vehicle damage or eligible unpaid reimbursement invoices. To see the date we initiated your security deposit refund, open the **Trips** tab, open the trip you’re interested in, and look in the **Refundable Deposit** section.

#### Status information

Once we issue a refund for a canceled trip or security deposit**, we can’t see the refund’s status or expedite it;** only your payment provider can. **Contact your payment provider directly for information regarding your refund**. Payment providers process refunds **according to their own timeline**, but often follow these general timelines:

* **Apple Pay and Google Pay:** Three to 10 business days, depending on payment method

* **Credit cards:** Three to five business days

* **Debit cards (including Revolut):** 10 business days

*   **

**Third-party finance service:** Contact the service that financed the trip for refund timing

    **

## Authorization holds

When you book, we place an authorization hold for the charge amount, **but don't immediately charge your payment method**. The timing of the actual charge depends on your [payment option](https://help.turo.com/paying-for-your-trip-HkumVNgVq#article-title-5). If you cancel before we process the charge, we release the authorization hold, and **no charge appears on your payment provider statement**.

If you’ve chosen to pay over time, your third-party financer may immediately charge you. Review your agreement with your third-party financer or contact them for more information.

## Other refunds

#### Refunds for host no-shows and Turo-canceled trips

We refund you in full if your host cancels, doesn’t show up, or in the rare instance when Turo has to cancel your trip.

#### Refunds for trip changes

We automatically refund you the difference if your request to change a refundable trip is approved, and it results in a lower cost. We don’t refund you if you change a non-refundable trip.

## Refunds from hosts

You can request a reimbursement or refund from your host for expenses they agree to cover, such as inconvenience issues. Normal trip costs such as [refueling](https://help.turo.com/rJkqN4eV9), [tickets,](https://help.turo.com/BJw5ENlNc) [tolls](https://help.turo.com/paying-tolls-Hy7iAfyhi), or policy violations aren’t eligible for reimbursement from your host. Contact your host **to get their agreement** **in writing via Turo messaging** to reimburse or refund a specific amount.

Once you have their agreement, contact support. The support agent will check for the host’s **written agreement in Turo messaging** and use the host’s funds to reimburse or refund you for the agreed-upon amount. **If there’s no agreement in Turo messaging, the agent can’t help**. You and your host must work out the issue between you.
