# Reporting a late return

#### If your guest is running late, ask them to extend their trip. Guests can submit a request to extend up to 24 hours after the scheduled trip end time.

## Extensions and late returns

Guests have up to 24 hours after a trip’s scheduled end time to request an extension. If you learn that a guest is running late and your vehicle is available, encourage them to request an extension via Turo. If they’re unsure how to do so, send them [these instructions.](https://help.turo.com/extending-or-shortening-your-trip-BypBE4eVc) The Turo system, will either automatically make the trip change or pass the request on to you to manually confirm or decline it. ## Report a late return

Wait at least 30 minutes after a trip’s scheduled end time to report a late return. Your vehicle’s protection remains active, and you may be eligible to receive guest fees for additional usage as long as you report the late return within 24 hours of the trip's end.  

#### How to report a late return  

1.  Open the **Trips** tab and choose the trip that is running late 
2.  Open the trip **Details** page and tap **"Report Issue"** 
3.  Select either **“Late return: Vehicle not returned”** or **“Late return: Vehicle returned”**
4.  Answer the questions presented
5.  Tap **“Report issue”** and **“Confirm”** your report
6.  Allow customer support 48 hours to review the issue and notify you of the outcome
