## Choosing roadside assistance

#### Roadside issues

You can use your personal breakdown cover for managing guest on-trip mechanical breakdowns (e.g. tyre, fuel, or key issues). Some hosts prefer to use this option to avoid roadside fees for service by Turo’s roadside service provider. Learn more about [using personal breakdown cover](https://help.turo.com/personal-breakdown-cover-uk-hosts-HkFsBOpCkx).

If you don’t have or prefer not to use personal breakdown cover, you can rely on Turo’s 24/7 roadside provider, Allianz, for roadside issues in the UK\*\*. Allianz does not offer assistance in Europe. Consider purchasing additional cover for European trips. Learn more about [approving travel to the EU](https://help.turo.com/travel-in-the-eu-from-the-uk-or-hosts-BJCoBVeEc) and your related responsibilities.

#### Accidents

No matter how you choose to handle breakdowns, if your guest is in an accident, regardless of whether a third party is involved, **they must contact Allianz at** **+44 808 164 1454**.

## Working with Allianz for roadside assistance

If you or your guest contact Allianz for assistance, the following processes and fees will be in effect.

#### Accidents or breakdowns

* **Undrivable Vehicle –** If the vehicle is undrivable, Allianz will try to repair it to make it operational. If they can’t, they’ll tow it to your preferred location within 100 miles. If Turo is unable to contact you to confirm the recovery location, Allianz will tow the vehicle to the nearest secure storage unit.

* **Drivable Vehicle –** If the vehicle is drivable after an accident, instruct your guest to report the damage through [Turo’s damage reporting centre](https://turo.com/us/en/resolutions) within **24 hours** of the incident.

**Important**: If the vehicle was involved in an accident with a third party, regardless of the extent of the damage, you must report it through [Turo’s damage reporting centre](https://help.turo.com/en_us/reporting-damage-or-guests-SJtWr4gE9) to give your version of events and provide the third party’s details; if you don’t, you risk being held financially responsible for the damages even if you weren't at fault.

## Host responsibility for roadside service costs

Hosts may be responsible for a roadside attendance fee, towing fee, tyre repair or replacement (if applicable) and may lose earnings for any unused days of an affected trip if service was needed due to:

* mechanical issues or improper maintenance.

* flat tyres caused by deterioration, age, rot, or a pre-existing condition.

**Roadside service costs: Trips booked on or before 1 September 2026**

* Up to £500 plus any applicable tyre repair or replacement costs.

**Roadside service costs: Trips booked on or after 1 September 2026:**

*   £250 roadside attendance fee

* £120 towing fee (if towing is required)

* Any applicable tyre repair or replacement costs
