#### Turo collects sales tax from and for hosts in some geographic locations. Hosts are responsible for knowing their own tax obligations.

## Tax responsibility

Turo collects and pays sales tax based on current peer-to-peer, marketplace facilitator, and economic nexus laws. Turo can’t offer tax advice, so talk to your licensed tax professional about your tax obligations. Below is a list of states and localities where Turo collects sales tax.

## Taxes Turo collects

#### US

Turo collects sales tax on host earnings in Texas. Sales tax is applied against host earnings, the percentage earned of the trip price, and cost or fees for additional distance, additional usage, or late returns. Turo hosts in Texas should expect their earnings to be net of the sales tax charge.

  
Turo collects and remits General Excise Tax (GET) as a “marketplace facilitator”. Some host obligations for GET remain. Turo also collects and remits Hawai’i Rental Motor Vehicle Surcharge Tax (RMVST). Review Hawaii Tax Information Release 2019-03 (Revised) for detailed information and consult your local tax adviser.

#### Australia

Turo collects Goods and Services Tax (GST) on all fees that Turo charges hosts and guests. GST is applied against host earnings, the percentage earned of the trip price, and cost or fees for additional distance, additional usage, or late returns. Turo hosts in Australia should expect their earnings to be net of the GST charge.

#### Canada

Turo collects Goods and Services Tax (GST), Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), and/or [Quebec sales tax](https://support.turo.com/hc/articles/360014057854-Quebec-sales-tax-for-hosts) (QST) on all fees that Turo charges hosts and guests. #### France

Turo collects Taxe sur la valeur adjoute (TVA) on all fees that Turo charges hosts and guests.

#### UK
