#### Turo’s system charges a refundable security deposit for some trips booked in the US.

## Security deposit costs

Turo’s system may apply a refundable security deposit to your booked trip depending on your age, vehicle type, vehicle location, and other factors. Turo will display the security deposit cost on the checkout page before you book. If you qualify for more than one deposit, Turo will charge you for the highest one. 

## Deposits for trips in the United States

*   **$750\* deposit** required for guests under the age of 30 who book Deluxe Class vehicles; guests must be 25 or older to book
*   **$750\* deposit** required for all guests who book Super Deluxe Class vehicles; guests must be 30 or older to book
*   **$500\* deposit** required for guests who book a trip with a vehicle located in New York
*   **$250\* deposit** required for guests who book a trip with a vehicle located in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles
*   **$200\* deposit** required if our security system chooses your trip for a deposit

**Note:** For eligible Deluxe Class and Super Deluxe Class vehicle trips, you can submit your personal insurance information **_when prompted at the time of booking_** to get a $250\* discount on your deposit; Turo can’t add this information once you book. 

## Security deposit refunds

Turo’s system will automatically refund your security deposit 80 hours after your trip ends **_if all of the following are true:_**

*   You or your host hasn’t reported vehicle damage; **_and_**
*   You don’t have unpaid eligible reimbursement invoices; **_and_**
*   You aren’t responsible for any roadside service costs

Once Turo initiates your refund, your bank or credit card company processes it [according to their own timeline](https://help.turo.com/refund-timing-rkyN44gEc).
