## Eligibility

To participate in our marketplace, Canada hosts must:

* Be located in Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, or the Yukon.
* Get insurer approval to list your vehicle; if you don’t, they may void your policy, and you’ll be unable to get a new one
* Check the terms of the contract with the lienholder if sharing a vehicle with a lien against it to ensure listing on Turo doesn’t violate the contract terms

**Note:** Your personal insurance won’t be used during a Turo trip and personal premiums won’t be affected if the insurer approves of car sharing.

## Insurers that permit car-sharing

Choose a Canadian insurance company that allows policyholders to share their vehicles; if yours isn’t listed, they haven’t approved car sharing on Turo yet, but check back regularly to see if we’ve added them

* **Allstate Insurance Company of Canada:** Permits policyholders who live in Quebec to list and share their vehicle on Turo, provided they notify their agent. The agent will add an endorsement to the host’s personal policy authorizing the use of Turo by the vehicle host. Certain conditions apply.
* **Aviva (incl. Traders, Scottish & York Underwriting Companies)**: Permits policyholders who live in Ontario and Nova Scotia to list and share their vehicle on Turo, provided they notify their broker. ## Additional insurance information for hosts in British Columbia

* You can list your vehicle without contacting your insurance broker; Turo has both Basic and Optional Blanket coverage through ICBC
* When you renew, your broker may ask if you’re sharing your vehicle on Turo to declare it on your policy, but your insurance premiums shouldn’t go up
* If your personal auto insurance policy offers more than $2,000,000 in liability coverage, talk to your broker about an endorsement to complement the earnings plan you have with Turo, and ask them about increasing your coverage limit
* You can learn more by visiting the [ICBC peer-to-peer car-sharing page](https://www.icbc.com/insurance/commercial/Pages/peer-to-peer-vehicle-rental.aspx)
