We know of no law that says it’s illegal to share your vehicle in France, but you’ll want to take into account insurance and leasing and/or financing considerations

## Leasing/financing considerations

Turo knows of no law that says it’s illegal to share your vehicle in France. However, check that your name appears at box C3 of the carte grise and that the terms of your lease or financing agreements to ensure that they permit your participation in car sharing, and that your vehicle’s annual kilometre limit will not be exceeded. If your lease or financing agreements are silent about car sharing, obtain a written confirmation from your leasing or financing company that you may share your car. This written confirmation will be required for the processing of any claim relating to damages occurring during a trip. Hosts who share a vehicle with a lien against it should check the terms of their contract with the lienholder to ensure listing on Turo doesn’t violate the contract terms.

## Insurance considerations

We don’t expect your insurer to cover losses that occur while your vehicle is being shared. Your vehicle will be covered for each Turo trip based on your chosen protection plan, subject to conditions and exclusions\*; you don’t need to inform your insurer of physical damage, and your premiums won’t be impacted. Your insurer’s response to car sharing will depend on their specific policies. If they have concerns, we believe you should be able to remove your vehicle(s) from Turo and retain your personal auto insurance coverage.
