## Liability insurance

Trips booked on Turo come with liability insurance included. There is no additional cost. Liability insurance covers bodily or property damage to another person if you’re responsible for the damage.

## Protection plans

Protection plans let you protect your wallet by limiting how much you’d pay if there’s on-trip eligible physical damage to your host’s vehicle. We make protection plans available to guests in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, and the Yukon.

How much a protection plan costs depends on the plan you choose. The higher the cost, the greater the protection and the less you’d pay if you’re financially responsible for vehicle physical damage. Protection plans don’t limit how much you’d pay if you’re responsible for interior or mechanical damage to a host’s vehicle. Protection plans aren’t insurance; they’re contracts between you and Turo.

When you book a trip, you can see:

* amount of third-party liability insurance included for your trip
* protection plans available to you
* each plan’s out-of-pocket payment limit for physical damage
* cost of the plan you choose, shown as a separate line item at checkout
