## Eligible ticket liability transfers

You may be able to transfer liability for certain tickets that affect your insurance or driving record such as those that involve speeding, running a red light, moving violations (photo and non-photo), assessment of points, or a court appearance. You can’t transfer liability for parking or PCN tickets.

Whether you can contest or transfer a ticket depends on the jurisdiction. **To improve your chances, don’t pay the ticket.** Review your location’s process, timeline, and required documents for transferring ticket liability

## United States

Upload a photo of the ticket to **Trip photos** and contact your guest through Turo messaging to request the required information. If the guest doesn’t provide the information within 24 hours, contact support at (415) 849-3398, and we’ll share the necessary information. If the ticket came with an affidavit, complete it and upload a photo of it to **Trip photos**.

## Australia

To request guest information for transferring ticket liability, complete [this form](https://help.turo.com/contact/transfer-of-liability-SkMYk5UDgl) within 28 days of receiving the ticket. You’ll need to attach a photo of the ticket to the form. After reviewing your submission, we’ll provide the required information and state-specific instructions.

If more than 28 days have passed and you received the notice late, you may request the issuing authority to reopen the nomination window.

If you can’t transfer liability by nominating the guest online, you may need to submit a statutory declaration. If the issuing authority rejects your transfer request and asks for additional information, contact Turo Australia Support via [chat](https://help.turo.com/chat-with-australia-agent-BJpkDCUSs).

## Canada

Transfer of liability is usually not possible, except in Quebec. Contact Canada customer support at 1-888-391-0460 with questions or to request supporting documentation.

## France

If you receive a ticket with points deducted, you must name the driver at the time of the offense in order to avoid being penalized.

In order to retrieve the information to designate the driver on the [Antai](https://www.antai.gouv.fr/particulier/designation-ou-contestation/) website or to complete the exemption request attached to the ticket, please proceed as follows:

* Ask the guest for the information you need to complete the exemption request

* If the guest does not respond to you within 24 hours, please contact Customer Service, we will help you gather the necessary information.

* Once the exemption request is received, the administration will send the ticket to the designated guest.
