## Eligible travel fees in the UK

During a trip in the UK, your guest may incur one or more of these charges:

*   [Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels charge:](https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/silvertown-blackwall-tunnels-charge/paying-blackwall-and-silvertown-tunnel-charges) A fee for vehicles that use the Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels between 6 am - 10 pm
*   [Clean air zone charge:](https://www.gov.uk/guidance/driving-in-a-clean-air-zone#types-of-clean-air-zones) A fee for vehicles that operate in the following clean air zones but don’t meet the zone’s emissions standards: Bath, Birmingham, Bradford, Bristol, Portsmouth, Sheffield, and Tyneside – Newcastle and Gateshead
*   [Dartford Crossing charge:](https://www.gov.uk/pay-dartford-crossing-charge) A fee for vehicles that use the Dartford Crossing between 6 am – 10 pm
*   [London Congestion charge:](https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/congestion-charge) A fee for vehicles operating in the Congestion Drive Zone (CDZ) during weekday peak hour
*   [Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charge:](https://www.london.gov.uk/what-we-do/environment/pollution-and-air-quality/mayors-ultra-low-emission-zone-london) A fee for vehicles that operate in the CDZ but don’t meet the zone’s emissions standards

## Account registration – TFL and Dartford Crossing

All UK hosts must:

*   Register all vehicles for a Transport for London (TFL) [Auto Pay](https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/auto-pay) account and for Dartford Crossing [pay as you go services](https://www.dartford-crossing-charge.service.gov.uk/Home/BeforeYouStartPayAsYouGo) so they’re charged automatically at a reduced rate; there’s no sign-up or annual fee to register
*   **Notify guests through a scheduled message in Turo messaging immediately after the guest books a trip if the vehicle isn’t ULEZ compliant and/or doesn’t meet the minimum clean air zone standard of** **Euro 6 (diesel) and Euro 4 (petrol)**

## Host payment for travel fees

Failure to register for a TFL and/or Dartford Crossing account means those payment agencies will charge you a higher amount. And if you’re late to pay, the cost can really add up. A late London Congestion charge can run as high as £270. A late ULEZ charge is £80. A late Dartford Crossing charge can run as high as £105. 

**Whether you’ve registered or not, Turo will limit the amount you can receive as reimbursement from your guest to the amount of the automatic payment charge.**

*   **London Congestion charge:** Up to £18 per day
*   **ULEZ charge**:  £12.50 per day; eligible only if you inform your guest that your vehicle isn’t ULEZ compliant
*   **Dartford Crossing charge:** £3.50 per crossing
*   **Clean air zone charge:** Up to the amount of the first increase if the charge is initially unpaid

## Guest payment options

#### Guest pays in advance or by the payment deadline

Guests can pay the London Congestion Charge and the ULEZ charge up to 90 days in advance, or by midnight of the next charging day, or by midnight Monday for a charge that’s issued on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Guests can pay Clean air zone charges in advance or by the payment deadline after they’ve incurred the charge.

#### Guest pays via invoice

If the guest doesn’t pay in advance or by the payment deadline, you can invoice them for the cost within 90 days of the end of their trip. You’ll receive an email notification when Auto Pay charges your TFL account.
