## How to arrange travel to the EU from the UK

1.  Book your trip at least seven days in advance; your host must apply for a VE 103 certificate, which could take up to a week to process
2.  Message your host and get their approval to travel abroad
3.  You’ll need approval to travel to the EU. Turo’s customer support team can help.Tap the **"Get help"**button below to reach our AI assistant and ask to be connected to an agent.
    *   **If Turo approves your travel:** We’ll notify you and charge a £1,000\* deposit. We’ll refund the deposit 80 hours after the trip ends if there are no outstanding reimbursement invoices or damage claims. 
    *   **If Turo is unable to approve your travel:** We’ll notify you, cancel the trip, and refund you in full
4.  Get a copy of the VE103 certificate from your host to keep in the vehicle for your trip   
     

**Tip:** Be sure to know entrance requirements for any EU country you’re traveling to, including whether you’ll need your passport or an International Driving Permit (IDP).

## How accidents or breakdown cover is managed for EU travel

When your host agrees to your travel abroad, they’re obligated to provide a mechanically sound vehicle that can safely make the trip. Turo’s roadside provider doesn’t cover travel in the EU.   

Responsibility for the cost of roadside assistance lies between you and your Host. We recommend checking with your Host to confirm whether their cover includes EU roadside assistance. If not, we strongly suggest arranging your own insurance to avoid any unexpected costs during your trip.

 If you fail to get your host’s permission to travel abroad and you require roadside assistance, you’ll be responsible for the cost. 

## How protection plans work for EU travel

If you’re approved by Turo for travel in the EU, your protection plan is in effect in these countries: any member country of the European Union, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Montenegro, Norway, Serbia and Switzerland (including Liechtenstein).  

If you fail to get approval from Turo to travel abroad and the vehicle is damaged or stolen, it will void your protection plan, and you’ll be fully responsible for vehicle damage or loss.
