#### This policy addresses what Turo allows with regard to in-vehicle devices that track and record data and their requirements for use.

## Policy

Turo permits hosts to use tracking and technology devices in order to track and protect their vehicles. These include, but aren’t limited to, GPS, aftermarket vehicle tracking technology, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) devices, cameras, and telematics devices. Accordingly, the vehicle you book on Turo may include a tracking device for the purpose of preventing theft. Turo does not permit hosts to use AirTags.

Turo requires all hosts in all locations to disclose to guests, and get guest consent for, the use of **cameras with a view of a vehicle’s interior** and/or **auditory recording devices.** Hosts must ask guests via Turo messaging for explicit, written consent to turn on any device, including an OEM-installed camera or aftermarket dashcam, that records the interior of the vehicle during a trip. If a guest doesn’t consent, the host is prohibited from turning on the camera during the guest’s trip.

Turo has the right to use device data in the following circumstances:

* To recover a vehicle (i.e. if the vehicle is missing or the guest fails to return the vehicle at the end of the trip)
* To determine if a trip should end early, suspend a guest’s account, and/or reduce or void protection under the guest’s protection plan if Turo receives a report of reckless driving or other careless or unsafe behavior
* To share camera and telematics data with insurers and/or law enforcement

## Violations

Guests who believe a host has violated this policy by using a camera with an interior view without their permission, using AirTags, or using a tracking or technology device they think Turo doesn’t permit should document the issue if possible and report it to customer support. To reach customer support, tap/click the “Contact Us” button at the bottom of this page. Identify your country, indicate you’re a guest, and then type “agent” in the message field.
