#### Before starting the listing process, check that your vehicle meets Turo’s eligibility requirements in the United States. ## Vehicle basics

Vehicles must be located in the United States, registered to you or to an owner who’s authorized you to list their vehicle, and meet all state legal requirements. They must have permanent, temporary, or similar license plates; dealer or trader plates aren’t allowed. 

## Vehicle types

#### Vehicles not eligible for listing

Ineligible vehicles are, but aren’t limited to, limousines, off-road vehicles, motorcycles, RVs, tow trucks, most three-wheeled vehicles, vehicles that seat 16 people or more (15 passengers including the driver, except in California where the max seat count is 10), or vehicles requiring a commercial license.

#### Vehicles conditionally eligible for listing

Box trucks are eligible for listing in all states, **_except_** Oregon, as long as they aren’t equipped with air brakes and meet [specific weight criteria](https://help.turo.com/article/box-trucks-hosts-Sk111wtlkl) for the state in which they’re listed.

## Vehicle condition

#### Age

Your vehicle can’t be more than 12 years old, with exceptions made for [classic or specialty vehicles](https://help.turo.com/classic-and-specialty-vehicles-us-Sy8WuBHZC). As your vehicle ages, you must [maintain your vehicle](https://help.turo.com/maintenance-requirements-ryNmIVxNc) and continue to meet our maintenance and safety standards.

#### Mileage

Your vehicle must have less than 130,000 miles. Once listed, vehicles that reach or exceed 130,000 miles may remain listed if they’re in excellent condition and continue to meet all legal, safety and mechanical standards. 

#### New York vehicles

If your vehicle is registered in New York, it must have an inspection sticker valid through at least the following month. 

#### Odometer

Your vehicle’s odometer must be in working condition. Vehicles with tampered odometers will not qualify for listing

#### Title status

Your vehicle must have a clean (e.g., [not a “branded” or “salvage”](https://help.turo.com/ineligible-vehicle-titles-B1DvLEe49)) title. You’re responsible for knowing your vehicle’s title history. If you don’t know the title’s history, you can use a service like Carfax to get a vehicle history report before listing on Turo.

#### Total loss

Your vehicle can’t have ever been declared a total loss.

## Vehicle value

Your vehicle must have a fair market value no greater than $200,000. Turo provides coverage for a vehicle’s actual cash value (ACV) up to $200,000. We use third-party vendors to determine vehicle value at the time of listing. If your vehicle exceeds $200,000 in value, contact us. ## Policy adherence

Your vehicle must meet Turo’s [insurance requirements](https://help.turo.com/personal-insurance-requirements-or-hosts-S1TvINxVq).
