## Basic eligibility

Turo accepts wheelchair-accessible SUVs, trucks, and vans. All vehicles classified as “wheelchair accessible” by Turo, must meet our standard vehicle eligibility requirements for listing in their market ([US](https://help.turo.com/vehicles-we-accept-rylmrNl45), [AU](https://help.turo.com/vehicle-eligibility-au-Hy7rf1yBi), [CA](https://help.turo.com/meeting-vehicle-requirements-or-canada-ryYjTRW8c), [FR](https://help.turo.com/fr/admissibilite-du-vehicule-or-france-r1nVktcan), [UK](https://help.turo.com/meeting-vehicle-requirements-or-uk-Syu3iEgv9)) and applicable accessibility regulations in place in that location.

## Accessibility requirements

#### Accessibility features

Vehicles considered wheelchair-accessible by Turo have features that make it easy for someone in a wheelchair to get in and out of the vehicle on their own or with little help. Accessibility features may include lifts, operating controls, ramps, and related parts. See examples of wheelchair-accessible vehicles below.

#### Interior space

Wheelchair-accessible vehicles must have enough space inside to accommodate a wheelchair and allow users to move the wheelchair comfortably.

#### Legal requirements and certification

In some areas, the law may mandate specific requirements or certifications for a vehicle to be classified as wheelchair-accessible. You’re responsible for knowing and meeting these obligations.

#### License plates

Turo doesn’t require your wheelchair-accessible vehicle to have an accessible license plate. However, if it doesn’t, you must instruct your guests to bring and use their disabled person parking placard during their trip. You may not park your vehicle in an accessible parking stall without a valid accessible license plate. Turo won’t reimburse tickets or fees incurred from parking in an accessible stall.

#### Safety and securement

The vehicle must have modifications to secure the occupant and their wheelchair safely if there are sudden stops or accidents.
