#### You’re responsible for following the winter safety regulations in your area and must accurately represent the type of tires installed on your vehicle.

## Winter safety 

Safety requirements vary by region. You’re responsible for knowing and following the laws in your area. If you fail to comply, we may cancel your vehicle’s trips, remove the vehicle from Turo, remove earnings, and/or charge you a [misrepresentation violation fee](https://help.turo.com/host-fees-r1aIIExV5).

If guests feel uncomfortable or unsafe, they can reject the vehicle at check-in or return it early. When in doubt, we suggest hosts err on the side of caution and put snow tires on their vehicles or offer snow chains as an Extra that guests can purchase.

## Snow tires

If you enable the “Snow tire” feature on your vehicle’s listing detail, the tires must bear the snowflake symbol known as the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) designation. This symbol indicates that the tires meet specific winter performance criteria.

## All-season tires and snow chains

If you enable the “Snow tire” feature, your tires must bear the snowflake symbol. All-season tires don’t have this symbol and don’t qualify as snow tires, even if they have the M+S (Mud + Snow) lettering. 

Tires equipped with snow chains also don’t qualify as snow tires. You can offer snow chains as an [Extra](https://help.turo.com/offering-extras-rkKLHExEc) for guests to purchase.   

If you [misrepresent your vehicle](https://help.turo.com/vehicle-misrepresentation-SkLQ84eNc) as being equipped with snow tires, Turo may charge you a [misrepresentation violation fee](https://help.turo.com/host-fees-r1aIIExV5), withhold or remove earnings, or possibly remove the vehicle from Turo.
