Listing a vehicle | US

Take some pre-listing steps and gather the necessary information to enjoy a smooth, successful listing process. Hosts outside the US can find information for listing vehicles in AustraliaCanadaFrance, or the UK.

Take a first step

You must be at least 18 years old to list a vehicle in the US.  Before you can list a vehicle, you must create a Turo account. If you plan to offer delivery, you must also get approved to drive on Turo. Go to your Account pagetap “Get Approved to Drive,” and complete the information.

Confirm you meet our requirements

In addition to the age requirement, you must also meet these requirements to be eligible to list a vehicle in the US:

Get permissions

Review the language of your lease or financing documents to confirm permission to list your vehicle on a car sharing platform.

Create your listing

Have all the information you’ll need at hand when you’re ready to list your vehicle. You’ll enter:

  • license plate number

  • vehicle make, model, and year

  • clear, well-lit, high resolution photos of your vehicle — successful hosts have at least 10 that show the exterior from all sides and any unique interior features; if you’re a business operating on Turo, consider including facility or fleet photos

  • a listing that accurately describes the vehicle and its features; you can’t include any mention of fees, deposits, or restrictions not supported by Turo and our Terms of Service

When you create your listing, you’ll set a price for your vehicle, choose a protection plan, and set your availability and trip preferences. You’ll also have the option to offer discounts, delivery, and Extras. Learn more in our getting started article for hosts. Don’t share your phone number, address, links to your social media accounts, or other personal information in your vehicle listing.

Complete your orientation course

To ensure you’re prepared for host success, we’ll ask you to watch a series of short educational videos or to attend a webinar (if available). Completing host orientation is a requirement for listing a vehicle on the platform.

Get ready for bookings

As soon as your listing goes live, it’s available for guests to book. Be sure you’ve turned on notifications and are checking the email tied to your Turo account for confirmation of booked trips. Canceling or failing to show up for a trip will trigger a violation fee, impact your metrics, and could impact your vehicle’s placement in search results.
